TOGETHER SIDE BY SIDE
From the first time I saw you
I knew we would be good friends.
I always hoped we'd end up together.
But we we're just friends, right?
But...alas, I can't stop thinking 
that there is more to it than that.
As friends, we've learned so much 
about one another.
From what our favorite foods, and preferences are
to how we truly felt about one another.
We've had our differences on things but all and all,
we are almost like two individuals acting as one.
Many times acting alike, even having the same
thoughts and dreams...

Over the years we have been accustomed to being 
there for one another no matter what the situation.
Neither big, nor small the problem or task, we have
been there side by side, helping each other out in
order to reach the goal.
Many times the help comes with out a thankful
response, but deep down inside, we know that just
saying "thanks" isn't enough to express the
overwhelming debt or gratitude able to be expressed.
Over the years we have grown closer,
much closer in fact.
There isn't really a day that goes by
without you being there for me.
With all the chaos and turmoil brewing within me
You are there to spread your arms wide and calm
the storm festering within me.
Not even all the gold in the world can repay you
for your tender loving smile and your 
warm gentle hugs when I've needed them most.
Even when no one else seemed to care, you picked
me up out of the depths of despair and
strengthened my inner spirit.
Because of that I will forever be in your debt.

I hope our special care for one another lasts
as long as we both shall live.
Friendship is the basis of all things 
bright and beautiful, you know.
We will be bound by each others continual care and
guidance as we plunder our way through troubled
times, as long as we are together side by side.
